If you live and travel within London you can have your student railcard put onto your Oyster card. This means you can save 1/3 off the daily price cap on your Oyster card. Take your student railcard with your registered Oyster card to any tube station, fill out a form and have the two cards added together. If your Oyster card is not currently registered you can do this at the same time.
So long as it meets the minimum fare restrictions you are also able to use your student railcard to receive discounts on off-peak day Travelcards zones 1-6, while commuting in London.

To be eligible for a student railcard you will need to be in full time education, which means you will need to be at school, college or university for at least 15 hours per week, and for at least 20 weeks of the year. You also need to be between the ages of 16 and 25, although if you are over the age of 25 in full time education you can still buy a student railcard. A student railcard can be used for peak weekday travel, which is a journey where you reach your destination before 10am.
